Two complementary ACTORS at the service of HEALTH
Welcome on the Health-Engineering platform
The HEIG-VD allows the transformation of knowledge into high value-added products and services, by articulating state-of-the-art theoretical knowledge with the requirements of professional practice.
In this way, it promotes innovation and the competitiveness of companies and participates in the renewal of the economic fabric of the Canton and the regions, through education, continuing education and R&D. The HEIG-VD aims to position itself in the Swiss university landscape by being a leader in technology transfer and the management of the innovation process.
It aims to be a melting pot offering opportunities for synergies between professors, students and companies for the emergence of new individual and collective skills. It trains professionals at the cutting edge of knowledge and technology and equips them with the tools that will enable them to become open and active players in the face of the major challenges of tomorrow's society.
Thanks to its strong commitment to R&D and its ability to deal with transdisciplinary issues, it wishes to strengthen its role as a partner of choice in the economic world.
Located in the heart of the CHUV hospital complex, the Haute Ecole de Santé Vaud (HESAV) trains healthcare professionals in four Bachelor's degree courses: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical Radiology Technique and Midwifery. It participates in the Masters courses of its programmes, organised jointly by the University of Lausanne and the HES-SO, and also offers continuing and postgraduate training courses that meet the requirements of the field.
Its research unit carries out disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities aimed at strengthening the scientific foundations necessary to improve practices, the health of populations and the socio-sanitary system.
Its many areas of expertise enable it to be recognised as a partner of choice, both by professionals and by actors in the social and health system and political decision-makers.
With its lively campus and its expert teaching staff, HESAV is a reference in the health sector and actively participates in the development and influence of the canton of Vaud.
The 5th November 2012, Mrs M. Clerc, director of HESAV, and Mrs C. Hirsch, director of HEIG-VD, sign an agreement between the two schools to establish the collaboration between the fields of Health and Engineering. The creation of the health-engineering platform is the first result of this agreement; it favors the achievement of common projects and supports the networking of the collaborators and their partners. Following the creation of the Health, Engineering and Economics at the HEIG-VD in 2015, the field of economics joins the development of the platform.
